The NMMA is a very cool competition, sort of like a small Grammy's--for  music that is produced and recorded in the state of New Mexico during the  previous year.  It's getting larger every year, now with artists from other states  and countries coming over to record.  Yay for New Mexico!   We really do rock.

 I am really honored that I've been nominated  as a finalist in some category or another, almost every year since the year I began writing songs.

2022:  Finalist for best original song for "One Two Three"

           Winner of best arrangement of an original song for "One Two      Three" -- along with producer, Larry Mitchell

2024:  The Other Side has been nominated as a finalist as the best pop CD in the 2024 New Mexico Music Awards, and the song, Chasing the Blues was nominated as the best blues song.

In the 2017 SongDoor international songwriting contest, I received three “honorable mentions” in a contest with well over 20,000 entries from around

the world , one with special recognition (“If I Die”).  I was really happy with this,

as two of these songs are on my latest CD, Darkest Angel.  

​

In February of 2018, my song, “What’s Done is Done” was the song of the day 

(for a week, actually) on the Art of the Song radio podcast/streaming site.  I am 

an artist in their Standing ‘O Project.  Art of the song is a non-profit show featured 

on over 200 NPR broadcasts to bring quality music to the listeners.
